Cayla Cardiff, Mezzo Soprano

Cayla earned a Master of Music in music education from the University of Texas at Austin, but has since moved to the other side of the baton as a performer and been blessed to study voice with Danny Johnson as well as Cheryl Parrish. She enjoys attending and working at both the Amherst Early Music Festival and the Texas Toot, where she has studied with Anne Azema, Shira Kammen, Drew Minter, Ann Monoyois, Adam Gilbert, and Bob Wiemken. She has enjoyed performing with the Texas Early Music Project, Istanpitta Ensemble for Early Music, La Follia Austin Baroque,  the Saint Cecila Music Series at First Presbyterian Church of Austin, the Schola Cantorum of St. Mary Cathedral, Abby Green and Glas, Oliver Rajamani, and the chancel choir of Highland Park Baptist Church.  Cayla lives in Taylor with her tall husband Steven, and teaches piano and music theory at Cedar Ridge High School in Round Rock.
